Multicultural Youth Showcase Event Put Young Voices First

Young voices were at the center of the program. Youth had an opportunity to perform and share their narratives, thoughts, talents and leadership.

Youth Speeches and Presentations played a significant role in the day. The talks allow young people to express themselves in their own terms. They also provided the audience with an opportunity to listen to other stories and perspectives.

The program became meaningful by personal stories which added human touch. Every speaker had his own contribution to the stage. Some focused on ideas. Others told stories or demonstrated some change in their own behavior.

The audience had a significant influence too. The other participants and also the members of the community listened attentively and supported the speakers. Young people felt more comfortable in that event, due to that support.

The outcome was an informal, action program. Young people weren’t the only ones there. They were among the things that made the event meaningful.

Confidence and Leadership in Action

A theme of the day was confidence. Youth had an authentic opportunity to speak before others and present their abilities.

Standing up and presenting can be tough for some. A nurturing environment can make a difference. The program aimed to engage the youth, express their opinions and help support one another.

Youth also demonstrated leadership during the program. It is shown in the act of speaking out in public, of acting creatively, of coming forward with ideas. These were opportunities for the young people to practice useful skills. This could be done in a real community.

The energy to the event included by the confidence and leadership of the event. It was also an opportunity for community members to share in the work put forth by the youth.
