What Can Event Participants Learn?

The Program emphasizes 4 priority areas.

These are:

Practical skills

Building confidence

Community connection

Future opportunities

The program affords a lab setting in which participants in the events can learn in a supportive setting.

Learners can gain confidence for future steps through the use of practical skills. This program also provides participants with confidence building opportunities.

The program is also closely connected to its community. Individuals can meet people in a wholesome community environment.

The program also takes a future perspective. Provides an opportunity for participants to build skills which can be applied to next steps.

The educational atmosphere feels uncluttered and friendly. Participants can learn at their own speed.

There are two major objectives: to develop skills and build confidence in people. It also makes it easier for people to remain in touch with the community in which they live.

A Fully Funded Program

The Community Foundation Skills Program is a fully funded program.

That will make the program more accessible to local people.

Lunch will be served during the sessions. Logan and Hillcrest also have limited transportation.

These supports can help with participants’ attendance.

The basic message of the program is:

Local Learning, Stronger Communities.

This message reflects the purpose of the program. Local learning can help people build new skills. It can also help bring communities together.

The program is part of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work project. The Queensland Government proudly supports the program.

Why Join a Local Session?

A local session can make learning easier to access.

Not everyone is looking to travel a long distance to join a program. Different locations give participants more options.

These sessions take place at Logan, Hillcrest, Capalaba and Oxley as well as Toowoomba.

The location that participants choose to attend is up to them.

The sessions also provide an opportunity for people to learn in an inviting space. They will gain some beneficial skills, and have the opportunity to get to know other people in the community.

It’s not only about the new skills. It also emphasizes confidence and opportunities for the future.

This can be beneficial for those seeking to make a positive step.
